La‘i ‘ōpua Village 2, Hawai‘i<br />
Planning and preliminary design for a new 240-lot subdivision on about 60 acres, east of the existing<br />
DHHL Kaniohale Subdivision, began in August 2008. However, the design will be placed on<br />
hold and the project will be idle until water commitments for the subdivision can be secured. It is<br />
not known when this will occur.<br />
Honokaia Pastoral Lots, Phase 2, Hawai‘i<br />
Construction of improvements to create 15 new pastoral lots at Honokaia began in January 2009<br />
and completed in June 2010. Subdivision approval was also granted in June 2010.<br />
Pu’ukapu Hybrid Water System, Hawai‘i<br />
Water system design in three phases for 184 pastoral lots awarded during DHHL’s acceleration<br />
award program in 1985/86. Design of the project’s Phase 1 was completed in 2009. Construction<br />
of Phase 1 is anticipated to begin at the end of calendar year 2010.<br />
Kānehili, East Kapolei, O‘ahu<br />
403-unit project: First increment roads and utilities were completed in January 2009. House construction<br />
by Gentry Homes, Ltd. commenced in February 2009; occupancy began in May 2009; all<br />
turn<strong>ke</strong>y houses are scheduled to be completed by December 2010. Undivided Interest lessees are<br />
being screened for ten self-help houses for which lot selection will be conducted in the first quarter<br />
of FY2010-11. Second increment infrastructure was completed in January 2010.<br />
East Kapolei 4.0 Million Gallon Water Reservoir, East Kapolei, O‘ahu<br />
Reservoir to service DHHL’s East Kapolei developments, as well as a portion of the UH West<br />
Oahu parcel. Construction began in November 2007 and is scheduled for completion in the first<br />
quarter of FY2010-11.<br />
East-West Road, East Kapolei, O‘ahu<br />
The road will be the pri<strong>ma</strong>ry arterial for East Kapolei II, connecting the various components (including<br />
Hawai‘i Housing Finance & Development Corporation’s affordable multi-family housing<br />
projects, The Salvation Army’s Kroc Community Center, two schools, and DHHL’s residential<br />
subdivisions) with the North-South Road and the University of Hawai‘i West O‘ahu campus.<br />
Construction began in the May 2010; scheduled completion is May 2012.<br />
