Sandwich Isles Communications, Inc. (SIC) continues to work closely with DHHL’s LMD and
LDD in the planning, design and construction of its residential developments and commercial
Moloka‘i, Maui and Hawai‘i. The project is operational and included over 348 miles of fiber optic
cable installation on land and in the ocean, along with three new terminal buildings at Kekaha,
Kaua‘i, Pu‘unene, Maui and Pu‘ukapu, Hawai‘i. The buildings house SIC’s fiber optic terminals allowing
them to light their fiber optic cable between islands SIC is now working on upgrading and
replacement of copper wiring with fiber optic cable to the residential lots not serviced with fiber
optic cables.
SIC now services over 2,000 customers on Hawaiian home lands.
