Fiscal Office<br />

The Fiscal Office is responsible for providing financial infor<strong>ma</strong>tion,<br />

accounting services, and establishing internal financial control policies<br />

and procedures for the Department.<br />

In order to evaluate the Department’s past perfor<strong>ma</strong>nce, reporting on current perfor<strong>ma</strong>nce, and<br />

planning for the future, this division provides DHHL’s <strong>ma</strong>nagement with various financial reports,<br />

as well as infor<strong>ma</strong>tion on financial trends and developments<br />

The Fiscal Office also furnishes valid, reliable, properly classified financial data to: a) the State of<br />

Hawai‘i–Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) for incorporation in the State<br />

of Hawai‘i Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR); and b) DHHL’s independent auditors<br />

for preparation of the Department’s annual audited financial statements and independent<br />

auditors’ report.<br />

In 2010 the Fiscal Office received and processed receipts from various sources including, DHHL’s<br />

water systems, principal and interest on loans, non-homestead income producing leases (i.e., general<br />

leases, revocable permits and licenses), sale of homes, and federal grants.<br />
