2010 LEGISLATION<br />

The 2010 Legislature passed a number of measures affecting the Hawaiian home lands program.<br />

• The Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2010 (Act 180, SLH 2010) provides for two DHHL<br />

programs: HHL 602 – Planning and Development for Hawaiian Homesteads; and HHL 625<br />

– Management and General Support for Hawaiian Homesteads. The Act abolished a total of 3<br />

Special Funded positions; 2 positions from HHL 602 program and 1 position from HHL 625<br />

program.<br />

• Federal Funding for Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act<br />

(NAHASDA) Development Projects, Statewide in the amount of $15,000,000.<br />

• General Obligation Bond funding for a grant-in-aid for the La‘i‘ōpua Community Center,<br />

Hawai‘i in the amount of $1,526,000.<br />

• General Obligation Bond funding for design of Kaua‘i Dam Assessments, Maintenance and<br />

Remediation in the amount of $2,500,000.<br />
