Recruiting
The recruiting mission is to maintain the highest quality force possible. Recruiting funds provide support for recruiting commands
and stations throughout the United States, to include civilian pay and training; recruiter training; recruiter travel and per diem;
applicant meals, lodging and travel; vehicle operation and maintenance; office leases; and operating costs of the Navy’s Flight
Demonstration Team (Blue Angels).
The FY 2014 recruiting program reflects a decrease of $60.4 million. Of this amount, $14.6 million is for price growth netted against
a program decrease of $74.9 million. The decrease reflects accession mission reductions; organizational rightsizing; business process
reengineering efforts; and best business practices implementation.
