Each power domain is supplied by one or more voltage domains that can be scaled down or switched off<br />

to save power. Internal memory <strong>and</strong> logic can be put in st<strong>and</strong>by (retention) mode independently. In this<br />

state, memory is not operational, but the content is retained with minimized leakage. This feature lets<br />

power consumption be reduced when the device is in sleep mode while maintaining memory contents for<br />

fast context restore. The logic <strong>and</strong> memory st<strong>and</strong>by feature is software-controllable.<br />

The device supports a clock distribution <strong>and</strong> control architecture, which is described in the following<br />

sections.<br />

3.1.4.1 Module Interface <strong>and</strong> Functional <strong>Clock</strong>s<br />

The clocks delivered to the modules in the device are divided into two categories: interface clocks <strong>and</strong><br />

functional clocks (see Figure 3-9).<br />
