Peter Chastain, John Chastain, <strong>and</strong><br />

Stephen Chastain, whose names are quoted chasfrom<br />

the ''General List of Families of the *^'°'-<br />

Parish/^ were near of kin. <strong>The</strong>y are rec-<br />

orded in the Vestry Book as Church Wardens<br />

<strong>and</strong> vestrymen. <strong>The</strong> wife of Peter Chastain<br />

was Anne Sublett, who died in Manakintown,<br />

April 3, 1723. It was probably a son of <strong>his</strong><br />

who married a daughter of <strong>Bartholomew</strong><br />

<strong>Dupuy</strong>. <strong>The</strong> wife of John Chastain was<br />

named Marianne. <strong>The</strong> wife of Stephen<br />

Chastain, sen., was named Martha, who died<br />

in Manakintown, Va., December 24, 1725,<br />

aged about fifty-two or fifty-three years.<br />

Of the four registered Sublett families,<br />

Abraham, sen., was the father of the other subietts.<br />

three. <strong>The</strong> Vestry Book registers them also<br />

as vestrymen. It was a descendant of Louis<br />

Sublett who married a descendant of <strong>Bartholomew</strong><br />

<strong>Dupuy</strong>.<br />

Anthony Trabue was a church Warden <strong>and</strong><br />

Vestryman in the Parish, as the old Vestry Trabue.<br />

Book shows, from December, 1707 to September<br />

30, 1723. His name no where appears<br />

later than last date. <strong>The</strong> name of <strong>his</strong> son,<br />

Anthony, appears in the official documents<br />

many years later.<br />

It was a son of Anthony Trabue who married<br />

Olympia <strong>Dupuy</strong>, gr<strong>and</strong>daughter of<br />

<strong>Bartholomew</strong> <strong>Dupuy</strong>.<br />

John Levilain in the List of Families was<br />

the father of John, Jr. Both were vestrymen, Levilain.<br />

<strong>and</strong> are also mentioned as sponsors in the<br />

Register of Baptisms. It was John, Jr. who
