Adran 1 : Oedolion fel modelau rôl ieithyddol
Yr egwyddor sylfaenol ar gyfer pob gweithgarwch cyn ysgol yw bod yn rhaid i'r
plant deimlo eu bod yn ddiogel, rhaid iddynt deimlo'n rhan o'r grŵp a thrwy hynny
deimlo'n hapus ac yn dda. Dyna'r egwyddorion sylfaenol ar gyfer y gwaith a
ddisgrifir yma hefyd. Rhaid i blant deimlo'n ddiogel er mwyn gallu cael budd o'u
profiadau a datblygu. Mae hyn yn wir am bob math o ddatblygiad, gan gynnwys
caffael iaith.
Er mwyn hybu dysgu iaith mewn lleoliadau cyn ysgol,
mae angen i ymarferwyr fod yn ymwybodol o'r
ffactorau sy'n dylanwadu ar ddatblygiad ieithyddol.
Chi a'ch cydweithwyr yw'r ffigyrau pwysicaf o ran hyn.
Chi yw'r rhai sy'n cydweithio i greu'r gweithgareddau
a'r amgylchedd yn y lleoliadau cyn ysgol.
Iaith yw'r offeryn mwyaf hanfodol i blant drwy gydol
eu hoes. Mae plant yn dysgu'r ieithoedd y maent yn
teimlo y bydd eu hangen arnynt, oherwydd yn naturiol
maent am gyfathrebu â'r plant a'r oedolion maent yn
ymgysylltu â hwy o ddydd i ddydd. Er mwyn dysgu
iaith, mae'n rhaid caniatáu i blant wrando ar eraill yn
defnyddio'r iaith a'i chynhyrchu eu hunain. Wrth
weithio mewn lleoliad cyn ysgol, rydych yn fodel ieithyddol pwysig i'r plant, felly
mae gennych rôl allweddol i'w chwarae. Mae ailadrodd geiriau ac ymadroddion
yn arfer ieithyddol ardderchog, gan fod angen i blant eu caffael er mwyn eu
gwneud yn rhan o'u hiaith eu hunain. Fel oedolyn, chi yw'r un sy'n gyfrifol am annog
y plentyn i siarad.
Section 1: Adults as linguistic role models
The basic principles for all pre-school activities are that the children must feel
secure, that they must feel a part of the group and therefore feel happy and well.
These are the basic principles behind the work described here as well. Children
must feel secure in order to be able to benefit from their experiences and develop.
This is true for all sorts of development, including language acquisition.
In order to promote language learning at a preschool,
practitioners need to be aware of the factors
that influence language development. You and your
colleagues are the most important figures here. You
are the ones who work together to create the
activities and environment in the pre-school settings.
Language is the most critical tool for children
throughout their lives. Children learn the languages
they feel they require, because naturally they want to
communicate with children and adults they engage
with on a daily basis. To learn a language, children
must be allowed to listen to others using the
language and to produce it themselves. While
working at a pre-school setting, you are an important
linguistic model for the children, and therefore have a critical role to play.
Repeating words and phrases is an excellent habit, as children need to acquire
them in order to make them part of their own language. As an adult, you are the
one who is responsible for encouraging the child to speak.
