Arsylwi ac adrodd<br />

Tra byddwch yn gweithio gyda thema neu ar brosiect addysgol ceir llawer o ffyrdd<br />

i arsylwi ar y defnydd o iaith a chyflawniadau ac asesu'r defnydd a'r cyflawniadau<br />

hynny. Gallwch arsylwi ar chwarae a sgyrsiau plant, gan gofnodi'r hyn a ddywedir<br />

gan y plant. Yn ogystal, gallwch wrando ar blant unigol neu chwarae gemau sy'n<br />

ymdrin â'r themâu ac arsylwi ar iaith y plant. Gallwch hefyd ofyn i'r plant dynnu<br />

lluniau a siarad am eu lluniau, neu gael y plant i egluro'r hyn a wnaed ganddynt. Yn<br />

olaf, efallai yr hoffech chwarae'r un gêm ar ddechrau a<br />

diwedd uned y thema ac arsylwi ar y gwahaniaethau o<br />

ran yr iaith a ddefnyddir. Gallwch hefyd gymryd ffotograff<br />

Dangoswch yn glir i'r plant pan fydd y gweithgareddau<br />

sy'n ymwneud â'r thema wedi dod i ben. Rhowch y<br />

deunyddiau i gadw gyda help y plant, cyflwynwch raglen,<br />

trefnwch arddangosfa neu barti, anfonwch waith prosiect<br />

y plant adref gyda hwy a thrafodwch yr hyn rydych wedi'i<br />

wneud gyda'ch gilydd. Sicrhewch fod y thema'n weladwy<br />

yn y lleoliad cyn ysgol drwy gydol y flwyddyn. Bydd hyn yn galluogi'r plant i ailgysylltu<br />

â'r thema, hyd yn oed os yw'r uned wedi'i gorffen. Mae gweithgareddau<br />

Observing and reporting<br />

While you are working with a theme or an educational project there are many ways<br />

to observe and assess <strong>language</strong> use and achivements. You may observe the<br />

children’s play and conversation, writing down what the children say. In addition,<br />

you may listen to individual children or play games that deal with the theme and<br />

observe the children’s <strong>language</strong>. You can also ask the children to draw pictures and<br />

talk about their drawings, or have the children explain what they have done. Lastly,<br />

you may wish to play the same game at the<br />

beginning and end of the theme unit and observe<br />

the differences in <strong>language</strong> use. You may<br />

photograph the children during some themerelated<br />

activity (excursions, playing, painting,<br />

baking, etc.) and write down what the children tell<br />

you about the photos. The items that the children<br />

have created could be placed in their portfolios.<br />

Indicate clearly to the children when activities on<br />

a theme are finished. Pack up the materials<br />

together with the children, present a programme,<br />

organise an exhibition or party, send the children’s<br />

project work home with them and discuss what<br />

you have done together. Keep the theme visible in<br />

some form in the pre-school setting throughout the year. This will allow the children<br />

to reconnect with it, even after the thematic unit is finished. Recall activities (going<br />

back over what has been learnt) are essential once the project is over.
