Amser chwarae cofio a chanolbwyntio
Mae sgiliau cofio a chanolbwyntio yn allweddol o ran datblygiad ieithyddol plant.
Pwrpas ein prif gof yw prosesu a storio gwybodaeth. Y prif gof sy'n effeithio ar sut
mae plant yn dysgu iaith. Mae ein prif gof ond yn storio gwybodaeth dros dro, ein
cof hirdymor sy'n ei storio'n fwy parhaol. Ein cof hirdymor yw lle y caiff rheolau
gramadeg, geirfa a gwybodaeth arall eu storio. Gall
y cof hirdymor helpu plentyn pan fydd yn gwrando
ar stori, er enghraifft. Er mwyn deall y stori, mae'r
plentyn yn defnyddio profiadau a gwybodaeth
flaenorol, yn ogystal â geiriau cyfarwydd a rheolau
gramadegol.
Mae ein gallu i ganolbwyntio yn effeithio ar ein prif
gof ac felly'n effeithio ar ddatblygiad ieithyddol. Er
mwyn datblygu eu hiaith, mae'n rhaid i blant allu
canolbwyntio ar wrando'n astud, yn cynnwys
cymryd rhan mewn sgyrsiau, clywed a deall
cyfarwyddiadau, gwrando ar straeon a chwedlau
tylwyth teg, ac ati. Mae canolbwyntio hefyd yn bwysig mewn cyd-destunau eraill,
megis dysgu iaith. Mae angen i'r plentyn allu gwahaniaethu rhwng seiniau hir a
seiniau byr ac anwybyddu seiniau nad ydynt yn bwysig.
Playtime Memory and concentration
Memory and concentration skills are crucial for a child’s language development.
The job of our primary memory is to process and store information. It is the primary
memory that affects how children learn language. Our primary memory stores
information only temporarily, whereas our long-term memory stores it more
permanently. Our long-term memory is where grammar rules,
vocabulary and other knowledge are stored. The long-term
memory can help a child when he or she is listening to a story,
for example. In order to understand the story, the child draws
on previous experiences and knowledge, as well as familiar
words and grammar rules.
Our ability to concentrate affects our primary memory and
therefore our language development. In order to develop their
language, children must be able to concentrate on listening
actively, including participating in conversations, hearing and
understanding instructions, listening to stories and fairy tales
etc. Concentration is also important in other contexts, such as
language learning. The child needs to able to distinguish between long and short
sounds and exclude unimportant sounds.
