the test candidates with some existing material. The success <strong>of</strong> the candi-<br />

dates converting the material can be regarded as an indicator <strong>of</strong> the degree<br />

<strong>of</strong> usefulness <strong>of</strong> the created framework.<br />

• Evaluation <strong>of</strong> the comprehensibility <strong>of</strong> the 3-Layer-Model by teachers:<br />

It is important for this work that the 3-Layer-Model is comprehensible to<br />

teachers. Since the 3-Layer-Model is so crucial to this PhD project, the<br />

3-Layer-Model and the EFTECS are used and therefore evaluated in both<br />

markup tasks.<br />

• Evaluation <strong>of</strong> the comprehensibility <strong>of</strong> TLSs:<br />

One <strong>of</strong> the major aspects <strong>of</strong> the 3-Layer-Model is the concept <strong>of</strong> TLSs based<br />

on EHPs. The understanding <strong>of</strong> this concept is <strong>of</strong> high importance for the<br />

framework.<br />

• Evaluation <strong>of</strong> the HEAT and the created output <strong>of</strong> the HEAT:<br />

The last general objective <strong>of</strong> this evaluation is to test the participants’ un-<br />

derstanding <strong>of</strong> the HEAT. Furthermore, their impression concerning the pro-<br />

duced educational hypermedia content <strong>of</strong> the HEAT is regarded as important<br />

for the evaluation and discussion <strong>of</strong> the test results.<br />

Pre-test interview<br />

The pre-test interview was introduced in this evaluation to form a knowledge base<br />

concerning the educational background and IT-skills <strong>of</strong> the test candidates. During<br />

the interviews the teachers were asked the following questions:<br />

• Could you please give some personal details?<br />

No personal details <strong>of</strong> the test candidates will be discussed in this thesis.<br />

However, the personal details were important to get a complete overview <strong>of</strong><br />

the educational and cultural background <strong>of</strong> the test participants.<br />

• How would you describe your educational task?<br />

This question was important to get an insight into the candidates’ educa-<br />

tional background, e.g. their teaching style. The information gathered here<br />
