Available reports The system can prompt users to make provisions or write-downs for delinquent<br />
loans. Provisioning can also be done automatically.<br />
Generation <strong>of</strong> reports The s<strong>of</strong>tware <strong>of</strong>fers a report writer which is a feature to alter available report<br />
templates by changing filters, column width, and column arrangement (can be<br />
used by users with basic skills).<br />
Reports can be customised per SACCO (stored as report files in report<br />
component).<br />

GUI The system keeps the history <strong>of</strong> recently viewed accounts/ transactions and<br />
enables easy navigation to review them.<br />
Workflow The workflow per product can be defined. Tasks cannot be taken to next step in<br />
case mandatory information is missing.<br />
Alerts A set <strong>of</strong> dashboard items can give alerts for defined events.<br />

Configuration The system is very flexible allowing for parameterisation <strong>of</strong> products, their<br />
workflow, incurred charges, individualised labels for fields, customisable fields,<br />
system settings, etc.<br />
Data Mappings for different data formats and structures can be defined and edited.<br />
Security Rights can be differentiated on a modular level and then broken down further<br />
into add/edit/delete rights.<br />
Transaction limits can be defined.<br />
The activities log enables following the audit trail per transaction.<br />
Authorisation process can be defined for different screens such as customer<br />
details, transactions, etc.<br />
Backup and recovery<br />
Multi-branch operations Muramati SACCO centralised 6 out <strong>of</strong> 12 branches, using a VSAT connection.<br />
POS devices using General packet radio service (GPRS) are employed by field<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficers or during link downtimes.<br />
There are three options for multi-branch operation: a local area network set-up<br />
for single branch installation, distributed set-up for multiple disjointed branches<br />
in case <strong>of</strong> insufficient connectivity, and centralised set-up using a wide area<br />
network.<br />
Support and maintenance The support resources (25 dedicated staff), procedures (defect management,<br />
testing, documentation, deployment, etc.), and tools (issue management<br />
system) leave a good impression.<br />

Any additional reports required,<br />
(exceeding 20) will come at a cost.<br />
