Access the Aggregator Remotely<br />

Configuring the Aggregator for Telnet access is a three-step process:<br />

1. Configure an IP address for the management port. Refer to Configure the Management Port IP<br />

Address.<br />

2. Configure a management route with a default gateway. Refer to Configure a Management Route.<br />

3. Configure a username and password. Refer to Configure a Username and Password.<br />

Configure the Management Port IP Address<br />

Assign IP addresses to the management ports in order to access the system remotely. To configure the<br />

management port IP address, follow these steps:<br />

1 Enter INTERFACE mode for the<br />

Management port.<br />

2 Assign an IP address to the<br />

interface.<br />

interface ManagementEthernet slot/port<br />

• slot: 0<br />

• port: 0<br />

ip address ip-address/mask<br />

• ip-address: an address in dotted-decimal format<br />

(A.B.C.D).<br />

• mask: a subnet mask in /prefix-length format (/<br />

xx).<br />

You can also configure a management port to acquire its IP address dynamically from a DHCP server by<br />

using the ip address dhcp command:<br />
