Use the following procedure to unpack and inspect the <strong>iH</strong> system.<br />

1. Place the pallet in a convenient position with a fork-lift truck or a pallet truck.<br />

2. Remove the staples which secure the cardboard box to the pallet, then remove the cardboard<br />

box. Open the top of the foil bag which encloses the <strong>iH</strong> system.<br />

3. Check that you have received the items listed in Table 3-2. If any of these are missing, notify<br />

your supplier within three days.<br />

4. Refer to Figure 3-1. Remove the nut and washer (2) which secures each of the four seismic<br />

brackets (5) to the blocks (4) on the pallet. Retain the nuts and washers for future use.<br />

5. Refer to Figure 3-2. Use suitable lifting-equipment attached to the lifting bolts (1) to remove<br />

the <strong>iH</strong> system from its pallet. Do not try to lift the <strong>iH</strong> system by hand (see Section 2 for the<br />

mass of the <strong>iH</strong> system).<br />

6. Inspect the <strong>iH</strong> system. If the <strong>iH</strong> system or any other item is damaged, notify your supplier<br />

and the carrier in writingwithin three days; state the Item Number of the <strong>iH</strong> system together<br />

with your order number and your supplier's invoice number. Retain all packingmaterials<br />

for inspection. Do not use the <strong>iH</strong> system if it is damaged.<br />

7. If the <strong>iH</strong> system is not to be used immediately, replace the packingmaterials. Store the <strong>iH</strong><br />

system in suitable conditions as described in Section 7. If you will use the <strong>iH</strong> system<br />

immediately, continue at Step 8.<br />

8. Refer to Figure 3-1. If you do not want to use the seismic brackets to prevent inadvertent<br />

movement of the <strong>iH</strong> system (see Section 3.6), undo and remove the two cap -head screws and<br />

washers (6) which secure each of the four brackets (5) to the sides of the <strong>iH</strong> system, then<br />

remove the brackets. Retain the brackets, cap-head screws and washers for future use.<br />
