movements, left myelinated nerve fibres, mild proptosis (a), and left disc pallor. There were no café au lait spots.<br />

(NB Café au lait spots may not be present before the age <strong>of</strong> 6 months.) Unusual eye movements were<br />

demonstrated as shown (b-i). The MRI demonstrated a chiasmal glioma (j). In patients with eye movement<br />

disorders in the presence <strong>of</strong> neur<strong>of</strong>ibromatosis, there is a case for MRI at an early stage<br />
