Section A: Indicator Comparisons by District<br />
HIV testing coverage improved across all metro districts except in the City of Cape Town; however this<br />
decrease is also probably due to improvements in data quality as this district had a coverage of over<br />
100% in 2005/06.<br />
The consistent improvement in HIV testing across the districts is a very positive finding which indicates<br />
that attempts have been made to integrate HIV testing within antenatal care. It is also an indication<br />
that, should improvements continue at the same rate, the National Strategic Plan target for antenatal<br />
HIV testing could be a realisable goal.<br />
