ESTERS DIASTEREOISOMERS WITH PROTON-NMR<br />

SPECTROSCOPY<br />

The work is an example of the use of NMR spectroscopy for the identification and<br />

determination of particular diastereoisomers in their mixtures. The diastereoisomers of<br />

naproxene allyl esters can be fast and easily distinguished and determined with proton-NMR<br />

spectra.<br />

Results of the series of PMR analyses performed in various solvents are presented and<br />

compared with those obtained with high-pressure liquid chromatography and with optical<br />

rotation measurements. Sources of error as well as limits of the detection and the<br />

determination and accuracy of the determination are discussed.<br />
