Note that if the particular device is an application-specific video device, such as a <strong>Cisco</strong> TelePresence<br />

System endpoint or an IP video surveillance camera, DNS address translation may be useful to provide<br />

a meaningful name that indicates the type of video device instead of an IP address.<br />

NAM Analysis of SPAN/RSPAN Traffic<br />

When configured to analyze traffic that has been sent to the WS-SVC-NAM-2 via the <strong>Cisco</strong> Catalyst<br />

6500 SPAN or RSPAN features, the NAM provides the same ability to monitor and generate reports for<br />

traffic based on service class, as was discussed in the previous section. In addition, the NAM can provide<br />

more detailed monitoring of RTP streams included within the SPAN or RSPAN traffic flows. An example<br />

of the RTP stream traffic is shown in Figure 6-15.<br />
