courses they had because I wanted to
work in an office.
REAL LIFE

I spoke to Jo, my Connexions PA, who talked me through
different options in office work. A lot of the jobs asked
for grade C in English, which put me off a bit. But
Jo suggested Foundation Learning so I could try out
office work first. The training provider found me an
office placement with a company that sells computer
equipment all over the world. I go there 3 days a week
and help on reception and do filing and typing. I am
learning spreadsheets at the moment. The other 2
days I go to the training provider to do some training in
Business Admin and get extra help with maths, ICT and
English. My spelling has improved but better still, I can
type a lot faster now too.

The company have offered me a full-time apprenticeship,
as an Office Trainee and I will do a VQ at level 2. I will
be paid £100 a week. I still see all my school friends and
have made some new ones at work. I think I made a
good decision.
