Applications - what you need to know
Online? Paper application form? Speculative letter?
How and when you apply will depend upon what you want to do. Some
courses have deadlines, ask your PA if you are unsure or need help.
Full-time courses
If you are applying to a sixth form or college in your area you should apply
from your online prospectus:
www.kirkleesoptions.org.uk or www.calderdaleprospectus.co.uk
Details of local opportunities are on these websites and you may also be
able to link to area prospectuses across West Yorkshire. You may be able
to apply to courses in other areas from your online prospectus. If not, ask
for an application pack.
• Your online application is confidential.
• You can apply for more than one option.
• To start your application you will need a username and login from
school.
• Many schools are planning to help you start your application in the
autumn term. Applications can be sent after 1 December.
• You will need to spend time completing your personal profile. This
contains your personal details and will go with each opportunity you
apply for.
• You can work on and save your application until you are ready to send
it off. Saved applications can be reviewed with your PA.
• Check and reply to messages and letters with offers and invitations to
attend interviews. Most schools and colleges will want to interview
you.
