“Apprentice IT Worker<br />
I’ve always wanted to work in IT. In Year 11 I looked<br />
into courses at college before I decided I wanted a<br />
job <strong>and</strong> some money. My PA helped me to apply for<br />
jobs <strong>and</strong> apprenticeships. It wasn’t easy but here<br />
I am nine months into my training. It’s good but<br />
dem<strong>and</strong>ing. St<strong>and</strong>ards are high. You can’t be late,<br />
scruffy or careless.<br />
REAL LIFE<br />

I started on £100 a week but after six months it went<br />
up to £130, when I get through my next assessment<br />
it will go up again. My level 3 VQ is acceptable for a<br />
part-time foundation degree course so I can carry on<br />
getting qualifications like a degree if I want.<br />
