The facts:
• Most Entry level, level 1 and level 2 qualifications 16-18 are workrelated.
• These are offered in subjects such as engineering, art and design,
construction, health and social care, business, IT, media and leisure.
• You gain knowledge, understanding and skills for a broad area of
work or range of jobs. Information about occupationally specific
qualifications is on page 24.
• These are practical courses that are usually assessed by tests and
course work.
• Entry requirements vary - depending upon the level of the course.
• Most Entry level, level 1 and level 2 courses are completed in one year
and level 3 in two years.
• Level 3 qualifications are accepted by universities and are included in
the *UCAS Tariff, see page 30.
• Good if you want to concentrate on one area such as IT or art and not
a range of A level subjects.
