The cassettes are available with Polyethersulfone<br />

and Hydrosart membrane types in<br />

The Polyethersulfone membrane<br />

The robust polyethersulfone membrane<br />

(PESU) is a polymer –which is stable within<br />

a broad pH (1–14) and temperature range –<br />

that is well established and widely accepted<br />

in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical<br />

industries. Membrane regeneration and<br />

depyrogenation is accomplished by using<br />

(1N) NaOH at elevated temperatures as<br />

required. Cassettes are stored in 0.1N NaOH.<br />

The Hydrosart ® membrane<br />

Hydrosart is a stabilized cellulose-based<br />

membrane that has been optimized for use<br />

in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical<br />

industries. The Hydrosart membrane is a stable<br />

polymer (created by a Sartorius patented<br />

process) which is compatible with a wide<br />

range of chemical agents and stable within<br />

a broad pH range. It is also an extremely<br />

hydrophilic and neutral membrane, making<br />

it non-protein binding and virtually nonfouling.<br />

It exhibits extremely high and<br />

consistent flux rates. Membrane regeneration,<br />

and depyrogenation is accomplished by using<br />

(1N) NaOH at elevated temperatures as<br />

required. Cassettes are stored in 0.1N NaOH.<br />

<strong>Product</strong> profile<br />

Hydrosart cassettes exhibit no adsorption of<br />

proteins, viruses, etc. Membrane retention is<br />

unaffected by repeated use. The Hydrosart<br />

ultrafiltration cassette can be re-used without<br />

any loss of integrity or performance.<br />

“Out-of-the-box” performance is maintained<br />

with multiple uses. These features make the<br />

PESU and Hydrosart membrane ideally suited<br />

to the biotechnological industry.<br />
