CERTOMAT ® Incubation Shakers<br />
CERTOMAT ® incubation shakers, originally<br />
engineered by Sartorius BBI Systems, provide<br />
a temperature-controlled environment for<br />
cell cultivation in microbiology, cell biology<br />
and other application fields.<br />
The CERTOMAT ® BS-T is a top-loading<br />
incubator-shaker with the same features<br />
as described above for the BS-1, including<br />
an interior made of polished stainless steel<br />
(1.4301) for easy cleaning and sanitizing.<br />
Temperature ranges from 8°C above ambient<br />
up to +70°C, with the optional integrated<br />
cooling between 10°C below ambient and<br />
+70°C can be achieved. All units have shaking<br />
orbits of 25 or 50 mm and can be run up to<br />
400 rpm.<br />
CERTOMAT ® incubation shakers are fully<br />
programmable for all parameters. Up to<br />
5 programs with 4 steps each and a pre-step<br />
can be stored and protected with a password.<br />
Safety features include the memory function<br />
that stores the last set points and re-installs<br />
them after power failure, and a stainless steel<br />
spill tray. Continuous recording of all parameters<br />
is possible by analogue output.<br />
The CERTOMAT ® IS is a benchtop model with<br />
a small footprint of 540+680 mm and can be<br />
used for flasks up to 3 L volume.<br />
The CERTOMAT ® BS-1 is a large capacity<br />
unit for up to six 5 L flasks. Illumination units<br />
for photosynthetic applications are optional.<br />
Three CERTOMAT ® BS-1 units can be stacked<br />
without additional equipment and be run<br />
independently, at full speed.<br />

CERTOMAT ® benchtop shakers are compatible<br />
with the full range of accessories:<br />
– Stainless steel trays (Type EU, 420+420 mm<br />
or Type FU, 420+800 mm )<br />
– Stainless steel or reinforced plastic clamps<br />
for Erlenmeyer or Fernbach flasks from<br />
25 ml up to 5 L volume<br />
– Hinged racks for test tubes or centrifuge<br />
tubes up to 30 mm diameter<br />
– Universal mounting system with clamping<br />
rods for odd-shaped vessels<br />
– Sticky tape or anti-skid layer for easy<br />
exchange of flasks or flat-bottomed<br />
containers such as microplates<br />
– Holders for microtiter plates<br />
– Illumination units, 5+18 W fluorescent<br />
tubes<br />
Accessories are not part of the instruments<br />
and must be ordered separately.<br />
