Filter selection
The first step in filter selection is based

We review the filter membranes with emphasis
on chemical and physical compatibility,
particle retention, adsorption properties,
required flow rate and total throughput.
Filterability studies
In order to help our customers select a filter
or a compatible combination of filters, our
specialists perform filterability trials using
filter discs. Then, small pleated elements are
used with the product under actual process
conditions.
This allows customers to accurately make
the necessary adjustments for full process
scale-up. Sartorius has designed a filterability
kit called the Zero-T. A highly refined software
program generates a permanent report
featuring throughput and scale-up analysis.
