3.4 Media<br />
All media were sterilized in an autoclave (30 min, 121°C, 1.3 bar). Some<br />
components <strong>of</strong> the media were sterilized by filtration through a sterile filter <strong>of</strong><br />
0.2 µm pore size (Whatman). 1.5 % agar was added to a medium used for<br />
bacterial growth on a plate.<br />
