6.2 S<strong>IP</strong>/MPEG-4 DMIF Interworking Signaling Gateway Architecture<br />
In this section, we propose a functional architecture of logical entity, that performs<br />
interworking between MPEG-4 DMIF and S<strong>IP</strong>. This entity is called DMIF-S<strong>IP</strong> IWF (DMIF-S<strong>IP</strong><br />
Interworking Function). The Figure 6-7 illustrates our purpose. The DMIF-S<strong>IP</strong> IWF is a signaling<br />
gateway composed of two sides: S<strong>IP</strong> side and DMIF side performing two-ways signaling translation<br />
between S<strong>IP</strong> and DMIF.<br />
