the facility (breakage, expiry, freezing, etc.)<br />

A <strong>stock</strong> keeping record that keeps in<strong>for</strong>mati<strong>on</strong><br />

about a single lot of a product. Also called as<br />

“bin card”.<br />

The entire chain of storage facilities and<br />

transportati<strong>on</strong> links through which supplies move<br />

from manufacturer to c<strong>on</strong>sumer, including port<br />

facilities, the primary store, intermediate stores,<br />

all service delivery points, equipment and<br />

transport vehicles.<br />

Used interchangeably with <strong>stock</strong>, goods,<br />

products, supplies, and other terms in this manual<br />

to refer to all the items that flow through a supply<br />

system.<br />

Records kept <strong>on</strong> products c<strong>on</strong>sumed. See also<br />

A report that (a) in<strong>for</strong>ms lower levels about their<br />

per<strong>for</strong>mance and in some cases providing<br />

additi<strong>on</strong>al in<strong>for</strong>mati<strong>on</strong> about reporting from other<br />

facilities; and (b) in<strong>for</strong>ms managers at higher<br />

levels about how the system is functi<strong>on</strong>ing.<br />

A management functi<strong>on</strong> that estimates the<br />

quantities of products a <strong>programme</strong> will dispense<br />

to users <strong>for</strong> a specific period of time in the future.<br />

An individual <strong>stock</strong> keeping card that keeps<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mati<strong>on</strong> about all lots of a product.<br />

* The terms referenced in this document are comm<strong>on</strong>ly understood definiti<strong>on</strong>s used in many supply<br />

management systems. Some nati<strong>on</strong>al systems may apply different terminology <strong>for</strong> similar<br />

c<strong>on</strong>cepts, but WHO encourages all to align their definiti<strong>on</strong>s with these internati<strong>on</strong>ally-recognized<br />

principles and terms.<br />
