I’d like <strong>to</strong> have done a coaching course but it’s just, I don’t know,<br />
there’s not enough people in the school like <strong>to</strong> do it. (Hay Street,<br />

Students in Fig Lane suggested that they could have done more practical<br />
courses, such as driver education, which they felt they would benefit from:<br />
I think they should have brought in a subject that like your really going<br />
<strong>to</strong> use in life, like drivers’ ed or something like that.<br />
Yeah that should be part of it, definitely.<br />
They have that in America, they should have brought that in here.<br />

6.3.3 Preparation for College<br />
In preparation for entry in<strong>to</strong> college, some students felt that their school<br />
could have organised days where they could hear the experiences of past<br />
students or find out more about the college system in general:<br />
We could have had more, I think colleges came in <strong>to</strong> talk <strong>to</strong> us, if we<br />
had more people coming from there <strong>to</strong> tell us a bit more stuff, then<br />
we’d have a rough idea of what was going <strong>to</strong> happen.<br />

and how.<br />
