The Trail of Tears 5 Lesson Objectives Core Content Objectives Students will: Explain that the U.S. government forced Native Americans from their lands Identify the Trail of Tears as a forced march of the Cherokee Language Arts Objectives The following language arts objectives are addressed in this lesson. Objectives aligning with the Common Core State Standards are noted with the corresponding standard in parentheses.
