study to <strong>the</strong> Economic and Environmental Impact <strong>of</strong> Sport<strong>in</strong>g Shoot<strong>in</strong>g study described<br />

above.<br />

Study Objective:<br />

• To assess <strong>the</strong> current contribution <strong>of</strong> deer management to <strong>the</strong> Scottish economy.<br />

This study, unlike <strong>the</strong> UK-wide study, focuses on <strong>the</strong> impact <strong>of</strong> all deer management<br />

(for both sport<strong>in</strong>g and o<strong>the</strong>r purposes) on <strong>the</strong> Scottish economy.<br />

Research Method:<br />

The research made use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> UK-wide study’s f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs, augmented by <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

work:<br />

• Desk research;<br />

• Additional surveys.<br />

Geographical scope: <strong>Scotland</strong> as a whole – <strong>the</strong>re is no regional breakdown.<br />

Participant def<strong>in</strong>ition: There is no focus on tourists (as def<strong>in</strong>ed for this report).<br />

Participants are def<strong>in</strong>ed as “stalk<strong>in</strong>g sportsmen and supporters”.<br />
