Are Holding Monthly Gatherings

at Pocahontas. Ark., have purcha.'^ed the 64
Drive-In at Russellville. Ark., from W. L.
ORLANDO. FLA. — The Independent
Drive-In Theatre Owners held its fourth
meeting February 16 at the Lawndale restaurant
near here, with about 30 exhibitors
present. Some exhibitors flew into the
meeting in a group. C. C. Sutton of St.
Petersburg. Fla.. is president of the organization,
which holds a meeting each month.
At the Orlando se.ssion a resolution was
pa.ssed pledging the open-air showmen to
cooperate with the Florida Theatre Owners
and Operators A.ss'n on tax and legislative
matters. The next meeting of the
drive-in group will be held at the Hi-Way
Drive-In. Fort Lauderdale. March 31. starting
at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Currently
the organization is in the process

building a 200-car drive-in here. Equipment
will be supplied by RCA. At one time Rook
owned an indoor theatre here.

The Kraver Theatre, Henderson. Ky.. owned
by Citizens Theatre Co.. is undergoing extensive
alterations in the lobby and front and
having a new concessions system installed.
Leon Pickle, manager, said the hou.se was
continuing to operate during the remodeling
Drive-In, Stuttgart, Ark., finished
last fall and opened just before the
season closed, will be opened for its first
full season in about two weeks, Malco Theatres,
Inc., owners, report.
Miss Janjce Long:, biller at Warner Bros.
for ten years, was married to Joe Hill. They
have since moved to California. Nada
Weatherford, clerk, is a new Warner employe
Zohbel, Dalla-s. auditor who
has been working for some time at the
Universal exchange here, suffered a stroke
and is seriously ill at Baptist hospital. His
wife and family were at his bedside.

book for the Lindy Theatre at Linden. Tenn.

Dell Theatre, Dell, Ark., March 6 after being
