Imperial Theatre and Skylark Drive-In<br />

at Pocahontas. Ark., have purcha.'^ed the 64<br />

Drive-In at Russellville. Ark., from W. L.<br />

ORLANDO. FLA. — The Independent<br />

Drive-In Theatre Owners held its fourth<br />

meeting February 16 at the Lawndale restaurant<br />

near here, with about 30 exhibitors<br />

present. Some exhibitors flew into the<br />

meeting in a group. C. C. Sutton of St.<br />

Petersburg. Fla.. is president of the organization,<br />

which holds a meeting each month.<br />

At the Orlando se.ssion a resolution was<br />

pa.ssed pledging the open-air showmen to<br />

cooperate with the Florida Theatre Owners<br />

and Operators A.ss'n on tax and legislative<br />

matters. The next meeting of the<br />

drive-in group will be held at the Hi-Way<br />

Drive-In. Fort Lauderdale. March 31. starting<br />

at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Currently<br />

the organization is in the process<br />

building a 200-car drive-in here. Equipment<br />

will be supplied by RCA. At one time Rook<br />

owned an indoor theatre here.<br />

by Citizens Theatre Co.. is undergoing extensive<br />

alterations in the lobby and front and<br />

having a new concessions system installed.<br />

Leon Pickle, manager, said the hou.se was<br />

continuing to operate during the remodeling<br />

Drive-In, Stuttgart, Ark., finished<br />

last fall and opened just before the<br />

season closed, will be opened for its first<br />

full season in about two weeks, Malco Theatres,<br />

Inc., owners, report.<br />

Miss Janjce Long:, biller at Warner Bros.<br />

for ten years, was married to Joe Hill. They<br />

have since moved to California. Nada<br />

Weatherford, clerk, is a new Warner employe<br />

Zohbel, Dalla-s. auditor who<br />

has been working for some time at the<br />

Universal exchange here, suffered a stroke<br />

and is seriously ill at Baptist hospital. His<br />

wife and family were at his bedside.<br />

Exhibitors Services has been engaged to<br />

book for the Lindy Theatre at Linden. Tenn.<br />
