In both cases, at the vertebral column and at the hip, there is a decrease tendency of the T-
score with increasing age. This is related to the fact that the calculation of the T-score takes
into account the bone mineral density of a healthy adult population.
Taking into account the T-score values at the level of the two determination
regions, the vertebral column and the hip, the following situations can occur in the case
of the patients who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis: vertebral osteoporosis – hip
osteoporosis, vertebral osteoporosis – hip osteopenia, vertebral osteoporosis – normal
