Florida House Conducts<br />

Ic Sale for a Week<br />

BARTOW. FLA.—A one-cent sale was conducted<br />

for an entire week by the Ritz Theatre<br />

here. Manager Dan Sangaree wanted to<br />

express thanks for public patronage, and hit<br />

upon this "sale" method of doing so. Ckjupons<br />

were freely distributed, one of which would<br />

admit an adult or child for a penny when<br />

accompanied by one paid adult admission.<br />

Joint Promotion Effort<br />

TARPON SPRINGS, FLA.—The Tarpon<br />

Springs Leader print.s dally a list of citizens<br />

who.se birthdays occur on a specified day.<br />

Against one name is an asterisk, and that<br />

lucky person is admitted to the Tarpon Theatre<br />

without chai-ge by presenting the marked<br />

list. The newspaper also prints a description<br />

of some person seen on the street. That<br />

person is awarded a ticket to the theatre by<br />

applying to the Leader office.<br />

CRESTVIEW, FLA.— Neal Robinson of<br />

the<br />

Fox Theatre, well-known here for his civlcmindedness<br />

and his interest in young people,<br />

donated hLs theatre and obtained a special<br />

children's film for a Saturday toy matinee.<br />

Admission was secured by bringing a toy.<br />

new or old in good condition, to be shared<br />

with needy children throughout the county,<br />

under the direction of the Junior Woman's<br />

club.<br />

Find-Your-Name Stunt<br />

Attracts Attention<br />

TARPON SPRINGS. FLA.—A weekly<br />

feature used by the Breezeway Drlve-In Theatre<br />

at Elfers Cut-Off is a find-your-name<br />

stunt, said to be proving successful.<br />

Sprinkled among the advertisements<br />

throughout the pages of the Tarpon Springs<br />

Leader are the names of persons who are<br />

thas entitled to free admission to the theatre.<br />

BRADENTON. FLA.—Raymond Comb.s and<br />

D. E. Fulford. owners of the Bradenton<br />

Drive-In. recently unveiled a new Cinema-<br />

Scope screen and new projection equipment.<br />

The installation was part of a renovation<br />

job which included improvements of the concession<br />

stand. Current plans also call for<br />

improvements and repairs on the screen<br />

tower and landscaping of the theatre<br />

property.<br />
