Business Taxes Lowered
On Beamsville Theatre
BEAMSVILLE, ONT.—The court of re-
Vision for Beamsville reduced the business
assessment on the Beamsville Theatre to $550
recently after owner George Marfei told
members of the court that the theatre had
been operating at a loss for the last two years
and he felt the as.sessment was too high In
relation to the busine,ss done at the theatre.
The council agreed that there should be
some reduction in taxation in view of the
place the theatre holds in the community.
There is, however, no legal way the court can
reduce the property assessment, but they
Season's Greetings
ff
Mid the frictions and animosities of the times,
there is much for which we must be thankful.
At this season of the year 1955, let us pause,
reflect and give thanks that in the years ahead
we shall prove worthy of the great gifts that
the good Lord has bestowed upon us
