frequency range is used as a reference signal. Different numbers <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> time steps<br />

were evaluated ranging from N = 3×M to N = 150×M, where M denotes again<br />

the number <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> UIR coefficients. Three different signal to noise ratios were analyzed<br />

(no noise, S/N = 4, S/N = 10). The results are presented in Fig. 5.17 in<br />

form <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the ”quality” Q/Q 0 over the time series length, which are shown as<br />

multiple <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> M. Q/Q 0 is determined using Eqn. (5.17), which is normalized by<br />

the maximum possible result <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Q in presence <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> noise. Taking the case with a<br />

signal to noise ratio <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 10, a value <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 97% can be reached when the total simulati<strong>on</strong><br />

time is 15 times the length <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the UIR or the l<strong>on</strong>gest time lag c<strong>on</strong>sidered<br />

(M△t ).<br />

The numerical study using the simplified model dem<strong>on</strong>strated that the proposed<br />

identificati<strong>on</strong> method based <strong>on</strong> correlati<strong>on</strong> analysis <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Wiener-<br />

Hopf inversi<strong>on</strong> is able to identify multiple-input single-output (MISO) systems.<br />

Furthermore, it is capable to separate the impact <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the different input<br />

signals <strong>on</strong> the resp<strong>on</strong>se, even if the input signals are correlated to a certain<br />
