Dipotassium<br />
Glycyrrhizinate<br />
Water-soluble active derived from licorice roots. Clinically<br />
tested in Japan and approved as a quasi-drug ingredient.<br />
Essential component of most skin care products in Japan.<br />
Reduces irr<strong>it</strong>ation and inflammation. Inhib<strong>it</strong>s histamine release<br />
and hyaluronidase. Suppresses UV-induced erythema.<br />
Lecinol S-10<br />
Hydrogenated lec<strong>it</strong>hin derived from soya. Contains 25-30% of<br />
Phosphatidyl Choline. Natural emulsifier w<strong>it</strong>h antiinflammatory<br />
properties. Effectively reduces irr<strong>it</strong>ation.<br />
Decreases irr<strong>it</strong>ation potential of other surfactants. Enhances<br />
anti-inflammatory properties of oil-soluble actives (e.g. Stearyl<br />
Glycyrrhetinate). Skin-friendly and safe surfactant solution for<br />
an anti-acne formula.<br />
Nikkolipid 81S<br />
Lipid complex w<strong>it</strong>h emulsifying property; superior affin<strong>it</strong>y and<br />
compatibil<strong>it</strong>y w<strong>it</strong>h skin; anti-inflammatory and moisturizing<br />
effects; improves rough skin by enhancing skin’s barrier<br />
function.<br />
Batyl Alcohol<br />
Emollient and emulsifier. Effectively thickens emulsions at very<br />
low concentrations. Series of tests proved that Batyl Alcohol has<br />
inhib<strong>it</strong>ory effects on release of inflammatory cytokines,<br />
interleukin-1α(IL-1α) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), produced<br />
by UVB-irradiated keratinocytes.<br />
Mukurossi <strong>Extract</strong><br />
Powder<br />
<strong>Extract</strong> of Mukurossi (Sapindus). Contains saponin glucosides<br />
and exhib<strong>it</strong>s superior anti-microbial effect against acne causing<br />
bacteria. Inhib<strong>it</strong>s lipase activ<strong>it</strong>y. Anti-inflammatory effect.<br />
Excellent botanical add<strong>it</strong>ion to an anti-acne line.<br />
