§807.163. Progress Requirements for Distance Education Schools<br />

(a)<br />

Distance education schools shall evaluate progress as the school receives each lesson<br />

assignment. The school shall maintain the record of progress on forms approved by the<br />

<strong>Commission</strong>. Forms shall include:<br />

(1) the date course materials are mailed to the student;<br />

(2) the date the lesson assignment is received from the student;<br />

(3) the grade on a per-lesson basis;<br />

(4) the instructor's name;<br />

(5) the date graded assignments are returned to the student; and<br />

(6) the final grade for the program with completion date indicated.<br />

(b)<br />

If at the end of the time period specified in the enrollment agreement, the student has not<br />

completed the program, the student's enrollment shall be terminated.<br />

The provisions of this §807.163 adopted to be effective April 26, 2004, as published in the <strong>Texas</strong><br />

Register, April 23, 2004, 29 TexReg 3970.<br />

§807.164. Progress Requirements for Degree Granting Schools<br />

For a school offering degree programs, the progress standards shall include the following:<br />

(1) a student progress evaluation every academic semester, academic quarter, or at least<br />

every eight weeks in block-time programs;<br />

(2) a minimum grade point average for graduation from all degree programs of 2.0 based on a<br />

4.0 scale, and that a student achieve a passing grade in all required subjects;<br />

(3) a probationary period of one academic semester, academic quarter, or approved grading<br />

period following the end of the academic semester, academic quarter, or approved grading<br />

period in which the student's grades become unsatisfactory; and<br />
