CSC may choose to conduct an unannounced visit to the<br />

school, depending on the nature of the complaint. If CSC<br />

conducts an on-site investigation and finds the school to be<br />

in violation, a $600 fee may be charged.<br />

CSC staff conducts a review of the complaint and the school<br />

response. Every effort is made to resolve the complaint<br />

quickly. When CSC concludes an investigation, CSC staff<br />

send a letter to the complainant and the school.<br />

Note: With few exceptions, CSC does not investigate<br />

anonymous complaints.<br />

School Response<br />

Procedure<br />

The school’s response must specifically address every aspect<br />

of the student’s complaint. School staff should consider the<br />

specifics of the complaint when responding, and all aspects<br />

of the student’s enrollment, e.g., approved course(s) and<br />

instructors, approved representative(s), and correct number<br />

of clock hours.<br />

To facilitate a speedy resolution, schools should send CSC<br />

copies of the student’s:<br />

• enrollment agreement<br />

• attendance and progress records<br />

• payment ledger card<br />

• class schedule.<br />

The school should also provide:<br />

• a list of all assigned instructors<br />

• any refund calculations, if applicable<br />

• refund checks(front and back), if applicable<br />

• advisory board minutes, if applicable<br />

• student evaluations of the course or instructors<br />

• other information necessary to respond to the allegation.<br />

Reminder: The school’s response is due to CSC within<br />

15 days of the receipt of the copy of complaint.<br />
