The shock spectrum shown in figure 5-9 represents the maximum expected<br />

shock environment for the spacecraft adapter with a diameter of<br />

1666 mm and a Marmon clamp separation system.<br />

The shock spectrum corresponds to a tension of 30 kN in the spacecraft<br />

adapter clampband and is defined for a location 12.7 cm (5 in) from the<br />

separation plane on the spacecraft side of the interface.<br />

The strength capability of the SCA1666 spacecraft adapter with this<br />

clampband tension is given in section 6.1.<br />
