Feelings
This is my first time to be in Seattle. My first feeling about the city is "green"
and "clean". Seattle is a very beautiful city with trees everywhere. The air is so fresh
that you cannot imagine in Hong Kong. No matter where you are, you can see a lot of
beautiful scenery all around. Just like my dorm, I can see a beautiful lake with lots of
yacht. Every evening, during sunset, the view is wonderful.
I have a roommate who is come from Korea and also taking some English
courses in University of Washington. Her name is SOYA and she is very nice. She
has been in the USA for nearly two years already. Her English is much better then
mine. She also knows some Chinese words and Putonghua. Every night, we play a
translation game together. It is very funny that she says a sentence in Putonghua and I
translate it into English immediately. We take turn to be the interpreters. Though
playing this game we have improved a lot in both English and Putonghua.
My class teacher is Cindy. She is a very polite and nice lady. Every time when
we go out for excursion, she will be the tour guide and take care of us. We play games
together, sing songs together and have meals together. She is a very good teacher.
Homework is light, only journal writings and one presentation. But we all can learn a
lot of useful expressions and idioms for daily conversation.
What I think is that three weeks is too short for staying in a beautiful city like
Seattle. People are nice and polite there. When I have time, I will visit Seattle once
more.
