During the lesson, it was not just the teacher talked and we listened. Instead,
we played a lot of games and had many group discussions. About the workload, it was
really very light. We needed to hand in a few journal writings individually and
conducted an opinion poll in group. I found that the American like to conduct opinion
polls very much.
Advanced English Seminar --- Kathy
Instead of American Language and Culture, there was another class, which
was called Advanced English Seminar. There were totally 9 students in the class.
Most of them come from Japan and Korea. I was so surprised that most of them were
not students, they quit their jobs and joined this summer program. They thought it was
a preparatory class for their further study in US. Although they were older then me,
they are nice and funny, we played happily during the three weeks’ time. I
remembered that when we were in Pack Forest, we played games until 3 a.m. I will
not forget this!

The teacher who taught us was Donna. She was a nice and funny teacher.
During the lesson, she always talked some jokes to us so that the lesson became more
