of us had our trousers and shoes wetted. I took many photos but my friends didn’t<br />

believe that we were only wearing short-sleeved T-shirt to stay in a snowed mountain.<br />

People in Seattle are indeed nice and helpful. <strong>The</strong>y gave me a hand when I<br />

needed helps. One day, Amy and I wanted to go to Chinatown but we didn’t know<br />

how to get there. When we were looking at the map to see how to get there, a man<br />

came and promised to guide us to the Chinatown from the Pike Place Market (that<br />

was so far away from the market). We were very scared as we thought he might not a<br />

good person. Finally, we went to the Chinatown safely as he was such a nice person.<br />

He talked with us during the whole period. I thought that was impossible to happen in<br />

Hong Kong. You may difficult to find some one to help even you are in trouble.<br />

<strong>The</strong> speed of daily life there is slower than in Hong Kong. <strong>The</strong>re are suitable for<br />

people who retired or just wanted to have a vacation. Shops are closed after 7pm.<br />

Only a few people walk on the street after 7pm. Once, when my classmates and I got<br />

back from Downtown to the hostel at almost 8pm, we couldn’t find any things to eat.<br />

It was because all the restaurants were closed. I thought that was quite boring to stay<br />

in the hostel during night. Also, I couldn’t use telephones or mobile phone whenever I<br />

wanted or needed. <strong>The</strong> Internet was not very common in there. All of these made me<br />

felt a little bite inconvenient to stay in there. However, I could enjoy my daily life<br />

slower in Seattle and pay more attention on studying English.<br />

Although Seattle is not a city very suitable for me, I still treated the trip as a<br />

valuable chance to stay in there. I have been exploring in different culture in there and<br />

learned so many. Also, I made many friends all over the world. <strong>The</strong>refore, I won’t<br />

forget the treasured time staying in there.<br />

Recently, I have heard the term of “ Informal Education” which is promoted by<br />

some of the education reformers in Hong Kong. During the trip, I experienced greatly<br />

the power and magic of the informal education that is the major method used by the<br />

University of Washington. It not only improved my English without any stress but<br />
