it there. For example, I experienced and learned the facilities provided for disabilities.
I believe Seattle is a city for all people but not the environment only for the majority.
My final year project is related to this topic. I read many literatures and case studies
but I can never know the real situation and can only find it out in this trip. So, we
should go to explore our own first-hand data besides reading the second-hand
information.
In Seattle, I got many free times that I could stay alone. I walked around the city,
experienced the culture and thought about myself. I can never get this chance in Hong
Kong as I need to rush for my life in Hong Kong. I thought about my life, my past and
my future, my happiness and sadness, my goals and regrets… My spirit have been
refreshed and I know much more myself now and much clear for my future. AND I
believe this is even more important than learning English, right?
Comments on Seattle language tour.
When I first arrived at Seattle Tacoma Airport, I felt a little bit disappointed
because the weather was not good. It was raining all the day and I was tired after a
long flight from Hong Kong via Japan to Seattle. However, I still had to bother things
like buying linens and some basic essentials. It made me feel unhappy at that moment.
Fortunately, on the following day, rain stopped and sunshine came. This gave
me a good hope, just like Seattle wanted to tell me: “the journey would be full of fun”.
I became energetic after a good sleep and started meeting some new friends in the
University of Washington (U-Dub) in Seattle. I lived in Mercer Hall during the
programme and met a local student called Eric. He lived beside my room in the hall.
He studies Psychology and now is his final year’s study. He was talkative and friendly.
Although he had examinations this summer, he still chatted with we guys and told me
what should be noticed in the hall. Luckily to meet Eric! Also, from him, I heard that
the university study scheme in the US lasts for four years usually. This differs from
the scheme in Hong Kong, which usually lasts for three years only. It is a great
difference.
