Infinitives and infinitive phrases
Infinitive and infinitive phrases are generally quite similar to gerunds and gerund phrases. Most
of the description of gerunds and gerund phrases will apply to infinitive and infinitive phrases.
Infinitives consist of to the base or dictionary form of the verb. For example:
