Note that <strong>in</strong>dividuals 8153 <strong>and</strong> 8382 have been omitted from this graph. 8153 is a<br />

great-gr<strong>and</strong>son <strong>of</strong> 6360, while 8382 would have to be tracked back beh<strong>in</strong>d 5838 to<br />

f<strong>in</strong>d common ancestors with <strong>the</strong> population <strong>in</strong> this graph. Also note that 11'392 is <strong>the</strong><br />

only <strong>in</strong>dividual to appear <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> results for both <strong>the</strong> reference <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> affected shunt<br />

population.<br />

Given that PSS follows a simple autosomal recessive mode <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>heritance (see<br />

chapter 3.2.3), <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> this analysis give way to several possible <strong>in</strong>terpretations.<br />
