In a corner of Cheshire hidden from view is a
records management company unique in the
UK. DeepStore is located 150 meters below
the Cheshire countryside. The natural environmental
conditions are ideal for storing documents
and sensitive or fragile materials due
to its naturally stable atmospheric conditions:
there is no UV light, no risk of flooding or
lightning strikes, no moisture and no pests or
vermin. The temperature remains at a constant
14ºC all year round together with a relative
humidity band of 60-70%. This is a natural
atmospheric state and cannot be affected
by power cuts or air conditioning breakdowns.
DeepStore also has the advantage of being
incredibly secure. The nature of its physical
location underground means it is not easily
Cubicle and washroom manufacturer Twyford
Bushboard now have a clear presence in the
popular seaside town of Southsea, thanks to
contractor Stevens Services Ltd who recommended
them for the large project near
Clarence Pier, visited by many British holiday
makers every year.
The Paraline range chosen for the project is one
of Twyford Bushboard’s new generation of cubicle
and washroom systems. It features slender
facility visitors have to go through two different
security checks, one to access the mine and
aluminium pilasters for an elegant finish and the
continuous head rail maximises the integral
strength of the system. Ian Stevens, Director at
Stevens Services Ltd comments ‘The dated
1920’s toilet block is in a prime location on the
seafront and was in desperate need of an
update. We regularly recommend Twyford
Bushboard as they provide an excellent service
from placing the order through to completion.
We felt the Paraline range represented the
clients needs best as the cubicles are appealing
to the eye as well as hard wearing, a key
requirement due to the amount of usage the toilet
block will get.’
Paraline can also be supplied as Ready Plumbed
Modules (RPM) which were used in half of the
female toilets at Southsea. RMP are fast becoming
extremely popular within the construction
industry as the rigid factory built frames are
assembled complete with access panels, sanitaryware,
cisterns and pipe work delivering
many time and cost saving benefits.
clients also have separate secure rooms as a further
level of protection.
Steve Holmes is the General Manager of
DeepStore and he is very aware of the natural
advantage the location affords them, “We all
feel privileged to work in such a unique environment
and there is no doubt that we have a
number of benefits purely by virtue of our location
and the atmosphere. We provide tours of
DeepStore to those clients who are considering
placing their business with us and they are
always amazed at the place.” Steve is also clear
about the financial benefits that come naturally
to DeepStore, “Essentially we have a vast
amount of ever expanding space. We don’t have
to build new warehouses when one gets full, or
worry about rental or building costs. We’re able
to pass on these savings to customers, which is
one of the reasons our charges are so competitive
and we’re seeing a big increase in interest
from organisations across all sectors in London
because of the significant cost savings they can
achieve”
DeepStore works offers both long-term and
‘active’ storage for which they provide a next
day retrieval and delivery service across the UK.
Clients include The National Archives, The
Bodleian library plus numerous small and large
private business, hospitals, police forces and
local government bodies.
