Engineers will maintain and test each eyebolt over the coming years in compliance with British Standard 7883:1997. The OCS eyebolts, formerly known as Centuryan eyebolts, are used with full body safety harnesses and lanyards up to 2 metres long that incorporate energy absorbing devices. Fittings from the company’s specially developed 500 Series have been used to construct five new handrailing structures at the main entrance to the Court, ensuring safe and easy access for all visitors. By installing the handrailing, the Magistrates Court is ensuring compliance with the latest health, safety and legislative guidelines. Under the terms of the DDA, all commercial and public building owners are obliged to provide nondiscriminatory balustrading and handrailing on stairways and ramps. Meanwhile, the Building Regulations recommend an outside diameter tube size for such installations of between 40mm- 45mm. Improvements to the key walkway points at Woking Magistrates Court have involved the installation of over 35 linear metres of new handrailing, assembled using the 500 Series of fittings from Kee Klamp Ltd which satisfies these demanding specification criteria.
