Testo launches new multi-function
instrument for ventilation and air
conditioning engineers
The new Testo 435 has been designed to provide
air conditioning engineers with a single
instrument that can measure all of the key
parameters needed to determine Indoor Air
Quality (IAQ) and the efficient installation and
maintenance of Ventilation & Air Conditioning
(VAC) systems.
In addition to air velocity, the Testo 435 can be
used to measure CO2, relative humidity and air
temperature to ensure conditions are at the correct
level and to indicate whether air conditioning
systems are working at optimum levels. A
range of thermal probes, vane probes and Pitot
tubes are available for the Testo 435 to allow
engineers to take measurements of air flow at
various points in a building. Also available are a
range of probes to measure absolute pressure,
comfort level, lux and surface temperature -
making the Testo 435 a truly multi-functional
instrument.
As well as cable connected probes, the Testo
435 can also be used with a range of wireless
probe that remove problems such as hindrance
during measurement and potential damage to
Jasun Filtration’s
range of Filbox
housings hold any
configuration of filter
probe cables. The instrument is easily upgraded
with an optional module and can then be used
with wire probes to measure temperature and
(in some models) humidity.
The Testo 435 is designed for ease of use, with
easy to follow menus. The 2 advanced models
(Testo 435-2 and Testo 435-4) offer users the
ability to allocate measured values to measurement
locations. These instruments also offer the
ability to switch between 2 User Profiles: Duct
Measurement and IAQ.
The Testo 435 is a robust instrument that is both
easy to use and of robust construction. For
example, the housing material (IP 54) offers
built-in protection against knocks and jars and
the large illuminated display is set back in the
housing to offer protection. To assist everyday
use the instrument features a carrying strap and
magnets on the back panel for attachment at
the measuring location.
The Testo 435 offers users 2 convenient documentation
options; print out on-site to the
optional Testo printer or analysis and documentation
on a PC. The Testo 435-2 and 435-4 mod-
The UK’s oldest independent filter
manufacturer, Jasun
Filtration, is producing a state-ofthe-art
range of Filbox housings
able to hold all air filters, in any
configuration. Designed for both
internal and external siting the
housings are manufactured using
30mm extruded, anodised, low
weight aluminium framework
with plastic coated steel panels
making them light but strong. Also
included are vice action flush
locks, which ensure a 100% air
seal; plastic grab handles and an
internal flange supplied and fitted
with insert nuts, pre-drilled to
match with mezz flanges.
The Filbox filter housings are available
in various models in a wide
range of sizes and dimensions.
They are capable of holding a single
row of bag filters of varying
thickness ranging from 95mm to
750mm and can be purchased prefiltered
with a row of panel filters.
Jasun Filtration also manufactures
a range of Filbox housings that are
designed to hold discarb units up to
600mm and a fine RP rigid bag filter,
which acts as a smoke filter for
catering applications.
The filbox can be supplied as bolt
together modules if access to the
installation space is limited, and
Jasun Filtration can even assemble
these boxes onsite if needed.
For buildings requiring high efficiency
filtration in a very compact
space, Jasun Filtration’s EcoBox
incorporates three advanced filter
technologies for outstandingly high
efficient filtration performance.
These are pre-filters, fine filters
and absorbers (for odours and
fumes). The EcoBox is appropriate
for external and internal installation
and is capable of handling air
volumes ranging from 850m3/hr to
60,000m3/hr. Suitable for a range
of applications requiring protection
from soot, dust, oil mists and bacteria,
the Ecobox is ideal for commercial
Kitchen Exhausts, and for
use in the air conditioning of clean
rooms, museums, archives, computer
rooms, medical and food
preparation applications.
The Maxxflo stainless
steel condensing
storage water heater
from Andrews
Reader Reply No.: 84065
Andrews Water Heaters introduced
for 2005 the Maxxflo stainless
steel, high efficiency condensing
storage water heater,
designed to meet the requirements
of today’s energy efficient
market. This latest addition to
the Andrews product portfolio is
in line with the demands of the
new Building Regulations Part L2.
It is expected to take its place
alongside the Andrews R300 condensing
non-storage water heater
range in the Government’s
Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA)
scheme.
With the heating industry’s move to
condensing boilers it is obvious that
clients will expect water heating
equipment to also be condensing.
Andrews has therefore taken steps
to extend their range of products
utilising this technology.
The new Maxxflo range of condensing
storage water heaters has tank
options of 200 and 300 litres capacity
each with four output sizes from
30 to 120kW. The high efficiency
stainless steel heat exchangers,
numbering up to 4 depending on
output, pre-mix modulating gas
burners and stainless steel tank
design allow the heater to generate
hot water in the condensing mode
up to 80% of the tank volume, producing
a nett efficiency of 109%.
This will provide numerous solutions
in commercial and industrial
applications where the storage
type of condensing water
heater is preferred. Furthermore,
the small footprint of the Maxxflo
and its multiple flue options enable
installation in unusually problematical
locations.
The stainless steel tank has a single
bottom drain, large clean out opening
and a built-in anti-legionella
feature. The cold water from the
base of the tank is fed into the
externally mounted heat exchangers
and fed to the top of the tank.
Therefore, hot water is available
instantaneously. The Maxxflo
heater temperature can be set
between 40 and 70ºC. A digital
electronic controller operates the
pre-mix fully modulating gas burners
fitted to each of the heater
modules. Reader Reply No.: 84064
