Kee Klamp introduces
new time saving
components
To speed up installation and
reduce labour costs, Kee
Klamp Ltd has developed a
new rail fitting as an integral,
standard component of its
market leading KeeGuard®
roof edge protection system.
The new fitting allows the
KeeGuard® system’s horizontal
guardrail to be placed in
the saddle of the open fitting,
rather than through it before
being secured with a grub screw in the normal fashion. This makes
system assembly up to twice as fast as conventional roof edge protection
systems and reduces on-site installation complexity and cost. With
this new fitting, the KeeGuard® system remains compliant with EN
14122 for permanent barriers and provides “collective” rather than
“personal” protection.
The KeeGuard® system comprises just three principal pre-fabricated
components - a main upright, a main counterbalance and a free end
assembly, where no wall fixing is available. All assemblies are designed
for use with 42.4 and 48.3 o/d diameter tubing and standard fittings
from the Kee Klamp® range to provide a complete, easy to assemble
solution in roof edge guardrailing, walkway demarcation, stairwell,
open lift shaft and other fall prevention applications.
The system also allows for integral kickboard fixing saving even
greater time and cost on site.
Options to the standard upright configuration are also available providing
a more sympathetic and unobtrusive appearance on buildings,
where required, than is possible using some other systems.
As well as the popular KeeGuard® system, Kee Klamp Ltd also provides
a full range of fittings for tubular structure construction, and
tubular solutions for interior or exterior balustrading applications with
its Keenect(r) system and Keeline systems. Kee Klamp Ltd is certified

Sontay launches new Thyristors range
Sontay, the market leader in control
peripheral products, has introduced a
new range of controllers for air handling
unit electric heater battery applications.
The feature-rich RE thyristor range
incorporates both DIN rail and panel
mounting options for ease of installation.
Both styles are compact in size and
rated at 600 Celsius to reduce panel size
and ventilation needs. The controllers
feature self-monitoring functions and
provide signals to a connected BMS in
the event of phase failure, over-heat or fault. Interlocks for airflow
proving, fan run on and overheat may be configured and all models
feature burst-power firing to minimize electrical noise and RFI disturbance
without additional filtering.

New tester also records
conditions of safety equipment
A new hand held instrument not only tests the
safety of workplace electrical equipment appliances
but also enables the condition of other
safety equipment to be recorded quickly and
easily.
The lightweight and battery powered
PrimeTest 300 from Seaward carries out all
appliance safety tests needed for compliance
with the Electricity at Work Regulations and
also checks the condition of the electrical circuit to which they are connected.
In addition, the innovative tester enables individual safety
records to be updated for other workplace safety equipment including
the condition of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, ladders and
other items. Information can be stored in the tester for later download
to PC-based safety management records systems, which are important
for traceability and due diligence purposes.
The PrimeTest 300 therefore provides a versatile electrical safety testing
and data collection device for all involved in safety management in
the workplace. The new tester also incorporates Bluetooth technology
to enable electrical test accessories such bar code scanners and safety-labelling
printers to be linked directly to the instrument.
